Technical Vendor Manager, Ges-Emea Operations Engineering

DESCRIPTIONAt Amazon, we believe that Every Day is still Day One We are looking to hire a talented and committed Technical Vendor Manager for our growing Engineering team to play a critical role in managing Amazon's fast growth and technology innovation needs. This role involves managing end-to-end vendor development and engagement, including capacity planning and delivery of key Material Handling Equipment (MHE) supply chains for the continued expansion of our EMEA fulfillment network.The Technical Vendor Manager will understand the details of an Amazon Fulfillment Center and will work closely with equipment suppliers, Global Procurement, and several Engineering teams. Responsibilities include managing the overall vendor development program, focusing on critical paths to ensure on-time delivery and accelerate project timing.Key job responsibilitiesLead overall end-to-end technical vendor management to deliver large-scale projects.Evaluate and simplify current working procedures and improve team structure.Drive technical program reviews and schedule acceleration, cost savings, and standardization.Deep dive on technical details and lead problem resolution as needed.Communicate project status and elevate decision-making.Lead critical path schedule items and escalate risks and delays to leadership.Partner with Procurement and Engineering teams to drive execution of deliverables.Work closely with Engineering/Project Delivery Teams to own delivery of equipment to site.Provide equipment projections to procurement for best value and competition.Coordinate information between various teams in the organization.Develop opportunities for process optimization to drive impact.Understand operational processes.Ability to travel up to 50% across projects in Europe.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSUniversity Degree, B.S./B.Eng or Master, in Engineering (or science/technology).Proven technical leadership experience in the development and implementation of large-scale, complex projects.Fluency in English required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSGerman, French, Polish, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans, and Zulu are considered preferred qualifications.Excellent working knowledge using MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and related software.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
