Senior Researcher

A position is open for a Senior Scientist specialized in systems biology and biomedical data analysis to join our team at IGTP to finalize the in-silico analysis of pulmonary tuberculosis clinical data within the framework of the SMA-TB project at the Experimental Tuberculosis Unit of the IGTP. This role is part of the H2020-funded project "SMA-TB: A novel Stratified Medicine Algorithm to predict treatment responses to host-directed therapy in TB Patients. Proposal number: 847762. Call reference: H2020-SC1-BHC-2018-2020", led by Dr. Cristina Vilaplana.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:The applicant must have the following qualifications:
PhD in biomedical sciences or a closely related field.Biomedical Data Analysis: Experience in analyzing biomedical data within a clinical context, facilitating interpretation and applicability.Cross-functional Collaboration: Extensive experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive research projects and deliver innovative solutions.EU Grants Management: Proven ability to oversee the administrative and technical procedures for EU grants, ensuring all requirements are met.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Specific knowledge in:In silico simulation of drug treatments in systems biology-based patients' models.Advanced skills in data analysis within biomedical contexts.Managing and maintaining clinical databases, ensuring data integrity.EU grants procedures (administrative and technical).Proficiency in managing projects, including planning, execution, and reporting.Ability to develop and implement strategies for the exploitation of research results.Studies or knowledge not required, but valuable for better performance of the functions to be developed:Good command of Catalan and Spanish.Data analysis in Pulmonary tuberculosis.Understanding of IP rights, patenting processes, and commercialization strategies.Ability to conduct market research to identify potential applications and commercial opportunities for research findings.Knowledge of the regulatory requirements and compliance standards for biomedical research and products.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee the clinical data analysis for the identification of disease stratification algorithms and biomarker discovery.Prepare reports and deliverables for EU.Be responsible for the effective exploitation of research results, ensuring that findings are translated into practical applications and widely disseminated within the scientific and medical communities.Write scientific publications.WHAT WE OFFER:Open-ended contract (Law of science 14/2011).Date of incorporation: 1st of September 2024.Gross annual remuneration: 45,000€.23 days holiday and 5 days for personal matters.Training capsules by the company.Be part of an excellent multidisciplinary research centre with the HRS4R badge.Location on the Can Ruti Campus, a first-class translational research environment in the Barcelona area, in a very stimulating scientific environment.
