The Global Procurement Solar Associate will play a key role in contributing to the development and execution of a strategic global sourcing effort, aimed at achieving long-term partnerships with world-class suppliers of Solar PV Modules, Inverters, and trackers.
The Global Procurement Solar Associate will assist the Solar Procurement Manager in necessary initiatives and procurement activities for assigned region(s). This includes supporting and executing end-to-end tender processes and negotiations, and involvement in transversal tasks such as process definition and implementation.
This role aims to create a sustainable competitive advantage for the company and maximize value through relationships with suppliers and relevant market stakeholders.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Support the Procurement Manager in achieving long-term partnerships with suppliers.
Execute RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and necessary bid processes to evaluate product options and select suppliers.
Manage negotiations regarding purchase agreements, involving other EDP areas as required.
Ensure compliance with EDP internal approval processes and guidelines.
Develop a network with solar industry players and stakeholders impacting EDP Solar business.
Collaborate with Legal for alignment on contractual agreements and develop standardized processes.
Share information about solar technology evolution and interact regarding project development.
Monitor and evaluate new solar technologies, validate suppliers through Technical Due Diligence.
Support ongoing issues during project execution and improve contract management.
Work on financial models and support M&A deals with Solar-related matters.
Maintain regular contact to understand Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) status.
Provide risk information related to Solar suppliers and market trends.
Assess solar plant production and manage tax and accounting matters.
REQUIRED PROFILE
Academic skills:
University Degree, preferably in technical and/or business financial areas.
Professional experience:
2-3+ years of relevant experience in the Solar Industry, preferably in Procurement or Commercial.
Experience with supply contract negotiation, management, and strategic procurement tenders.
Competency in developing business relationships.
Behavioral requirements:
Strong work ethic, communication skills, multi-tasking abilities, and innovative thinking.
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
Superior negotiation skills and leadership abilities.
Interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships in a multi-cultural environment.
Travel: Expected minimum of 25% (Supplier factories, meetings, solar farm visits, industry fairs, etc.). Willingness to travel internationally when required.
