We are looking for a Senior Retail Category Development Manager for our subsidiary located in Madrid, Spain.
This role functions as an expert in the field of shopper, customer and category projects. This translates into taking the lead on large (cross) category projects, both internal and external and training colleagues to place category management / retail- and shopper thinking as strong as possible within the organization.
Reporting to the Retail Execution Manager you will be responsible for developing and delivering the Retail Category Development (RCD) services to our 1 way and 2 way customers to increase the value of our categories.
Responsible for championing the Category Vision within the organization, and demonstrates enhanced capabilities working collaboratively with customers. Plays an integral role in elevating Category and shopper knowledge.The role requires a strong understanding of the shopper and the retail dynamics in different retail environments (RE's) across categories. The Category Development Manager needs to be able to identify the category business challenges at an RE level and for priority customersWork with different quantitative and qualitative (research) agencies and the Insights & Analytics team to gather valuable insights and build credible category and trade storiesIs a part of the commercial team and will work with the Customer Development Managers and Marketing teams to ensure alignment and execution against the category and brand strategies by coordinating the RCD process with customers and providing the tools required to define and deploy the 5P's for the category.Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Define RCD annual plan to ensure highest standards of partnering & engagement with our key customers based on building trust on our objective insights & recommendations. Lead the customer engagement process with prioritized customers, (including shop along, collaborative research shopper study, RCD workshop and lead Value creation meetings in order to align with the customer on a strategy to accelerate category growth). Management of the relationship with Nielsen and Advantage to ensure we receive the right services and leverage it ith our business challengesKeep developing and updating RCD Tools for the prioritized categories such as the Merchandising Manual or Category Newsletters to increase RCD coverage at 1 Way Customers. Develop Recommended Assortment and Planograms by RE & key customersClose internal collaboration with Insights team, Field Force, CDMs, Consumer Experience & rest of retail execution teamProvide category diagnosis internally and externally to customers and training store staffs Provide key inputs to the GtM team for all NP development & new projects, help address Trade StoriesEducation/ Experience Requirements: Basic qualifications include: 4+ years of experience in a commercial area (category management /consumer marketing / customer development/ trade marketing) Fluent Spanish levelAdvanced English Level Experienced contact with retailers (presentations/innovation days/commercial meetings) Nielsen data management & reports (Scantrack, homepanel, trade panel…) , Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, power point) and Google Tools (google sheets & google slides) knowledge & desirable planogram tools management like (i.e: Spaceman, Apolo…) Consumer/Customer FocusedRelationship BuildingCommunicate EffectivelyAnalysis/Decision making Planning/Priority SettingOwnershipTravel Requirements:
