Senior Backend Software Engineer, Rust & Python At DataBeacon our mission is to revolutionize the aviation industry using a modern technology stack, open source technologies and lean architectures.Our first product is SimpliFID, an Aerodrome Flight Information Service ( AFIS ) that covers most functionalities of a radar system at a fraction of the costs.
Built in Rust, Python and TypeScript, it sources data from ADB -S and Mode-S Secondary Surveillance Radar ( SSR ) systems over Asterix CAT021 Surveillance Data Exchange protocol and delivers it to the user with near zero-latency.
Our main focus is on scalability, security and the development and discovery of additional products in the real-time data services for aviation space.In anticipation to the exciting challenges ahead, we look forward to extend our engineering team with an exceptional Senior Software Engineer with experience in Rust and Python.What would you do:implement, maintain and upgrade DataBeacon's backend services,work with a small and highly motivated, skilled team of engineers,participate in the company technical decisions and roadmap,get to explore and experiment with new exciting technologies,have minimal administrative overhead and the possibility to create a real impact,submit your first patch in less than a week and the first feature in a month,You must have:at least 4+ of relevant professional experience as Software Engineer,excellent proficiency working with a low level systems language, ideally Rust,excellent command of the Python language and its ecosystem,have a good command of English and good communication skills,be located in Madrid or surroundings.Nice to have:experience with Apache Kafka, protobuffers and gPRCs,solid fundamentals of operating systems, binary protocols, encodings, databases and networking,some experience working with embedded hardware,familiarity with containerized, scalable, distributed applications, DevOps, automation, CDexperience building critical software applications in highly regulated sectors,affinity for aviation in general.What we offer:a total of 25 vacation days, including Christmas' and New Year's eves,hybrid and work-from-home policies tailored to your needs,a beautiful office in the center of Madrid, near Alonso Martinez,yearly budget for continuous learning, conferences, books, courses,a fairly generous compensation, reviewed yearly, and a personal growth plan.If this position and our mission resonates with you, we would be excited to hear from youSimply send us an email to ****** with your resume and the position you are applying to.#J-18808-Ljbffr
