Our team is growing and we are looking for a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel - Barcelona. We are looking for an In-House Senior Legal Counsel eager to work in a scale up part of the payment industry. By joining our team, you will experience the challenges of being part of a legal department involved in the growth of a company and you will have the opportunity to build strong expertise in the payment field. Job Duties and Responsabilites: - Primary legal business partner for Europe providing legal advice on corporate matters including, among others, abor laws, M&A, local and international law, data protection and privacy laws, and general civil law. - Promoting legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the company. - Engage in contract drafting, reviewing, and negotiating with vendors, critical suppliers, partners, and customers. - Use excellent business judgment to assess legal risk while also thinking strategically and providing practical, business-oriented advice. - Manage outside counsel and other advisors on a variety of matters. - Organize and maintain regional corporate, commercial, and regulatory records. - Serve as a thought leader to improve and simplify processes, drive standardization and organization, and buildscalable solutions. - Develop/Assist with and execute global initiatives to support the General Counsel. - Provide backup support to other colleagues on the legal team as needed. Experience and Qualifications:SkillsOutstanding analytical skills. Good organizational/time management skills, structural thinking. Self-motivated, with ability to lead and drive change initiatives, can-do attitude. Teamwork skills, easy to work with, being able to get agreements with internal collaborators. Must have leadership skills in bringing different perspectives together and work through competing priorities. Ability to be hands on with high attention to detail but also not lose strategic standpoint. Willingness to work in a fast-growing company working environment and adapt to changes fast. Knowledge/Abilities:Experience in similar roles, in a multi-national environment. Education:Bachelor's degree in law. Fluent in Spanish and English. Portuguese will be a plus. Experience Target: Plus 10 years of relevant post-qualification legal experience in providing legal advice gained inthe regulatory or corporate department from a highly reputable law firm or in an international payments/payment processingcompany or fintech. Experience in regulatory processes with central banks and regulators will be highly valued.
