Commodity Supplier Quality Engineer – Metal Machining

This position can be located in our Madrid, Vigo, or San Sebastián factory. A Regional Supplier Quality Engineer for Metal machining & Assembly ensures products from metal machining operations (milling, grinding, drilling, cutting, etc.) including assembly comply with safety and quality standards.He/she defines qualification requirements (PPAP) as part of outsourcing/new product introduction projects (PDP) and ensures they are met according to project timing with no post-qualification quality escapes. As part of overall supplier management, he/she performs audits and assessments in supplier factories and follows up on supplier quality issues, driving them for successful resolution and closure using Otis quality tools and according to Otis quality policies and procedures. The job requires active communication with external electrical product suppliers as well as internal customers/Otis factories, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Field functions. Status and progress of work should be regularly communicated to function and regional/global management. The job requires 40% to 60% travel. The ideal candidate is a graduated and experienced Mechanical Quality Engineer with demonstrable experience in resolving product quality issues and knowledge of industry standards. The candidate should demonstrate customer focus, passion for quality, and a drive for results.As a COMMODITY SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER (Metal machining & Assembly), you will be responsible for:Supplier management with periodical audits and assessments.Participation in sourcing projects and new product development to assure the right quality level of products.Leading the supplier claim timely resolution (internal and external quality claims) to achieve given KPIs.Cooperating with other functions: Engineering, Manufacturing, and Field to accomplish objectives.Using Otis quality tools and proceeding according to company policies and procedures.Recording progress and results in Otis QMSS (Otis electronic quality system).Reporting to function and regional/global management on a regular basis.Negotiating the application of necessary actions with external suppliers.Proposing improvements to Otis products for quality enhancement.To be successful in this role:Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree (preferred) in mechanical or industrial engineering. Preferred prior experience in an industrial/engineering company from the production sector. Experience in the quality area, including quality issues resolution.#J-18808-Ljbffr
