As part of the organization within the GBS community, we have a Tax Center of Expertise (CoE) team all around the different locations that encompasses different process areas as Tax Compliance, Tax Accounting, Transfer Pricing, Tax Technology and Digital Transformation.The main activities and responsibilities of this team are giving tax advice within the GBS team and being the key contact to headquarters and local teams; caretaking for outsourcing; managing complex tax activities within the region under scope and/or with global impact, including tax audit support; continuous process improvements (cross-functional alignments, automation data analytics); support to Global Process Owner (GPO)'s projects; knowledge management; and advising on tax reporting activities.For our Global Tax team, we are looking for a Tax Manager who leads globally the Tax Center of Expertise (CoE) team (excluding Transfer Pricing).
This comprises the steering and target setting of the multiple members across the globe within a virtual team (Poland, China, Spain, Costa Rica, Philippines, India, Germany).YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe purpose of this position is to steer globally the Tax CoE team in Tax Compliance, Tax Accounting, Tax Technology and Digital Transformation to ensure that the GBS organization can execute on time and in the desired quality and behavioral level (business partners and trusted advisors).
The team acts as the counterpart of the respective GPOs, both putting the global standards/settings into operations and providing the feedback, ideas, and operational knowledge from the operations.Expectations particularly relate to building a united Tax CoE team within Bayer's Tax Community and contributing to the upgrade of the mindset of its members, demand/change management, and tax digital transformation (together with IT), community management (including Knowledge and best practice management/standardization), continuous improvement, and risk management.- Lead and develop a team of 10/15 professionals that comprise the Tax CoE team within the GBS community by setting up, communicating, and living the team purpose, making them feel and live in a united team across different locations while bringing them to the desired behavioral level (business partners and trusted advisors), achieving the tasks of their positions, and contributing to their ongoing development.- As part of the department leadership team, you will define operational and transformation goals and become a key contact within the Tax community at Bayer.- Bring expertise for processes and their continuous improvement as well as digitalization of the tax function, leveraging Data Analytics and Smart Automation.- Show broad ability to deal with complex situations, analyze the root cause of issues, and have innovative, open-minded thinking to evaluate solutions.- Build business acumen and a strong network towards other process areas as well as strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.- Motivate and lead all members of the department and ensure constant and personalized development while increasing engagement and trust.WHO YOU ARE- BA/BS degree in Tax/Fiscal, Finance, Accounting, Law or Business with 7+ years of experience in taxation.- Professional tax practice in multinational companies and preferably experience in international tax firms.
Experience in GBS centers is a plus.- Experience across Tax Operations, Tax accounting/reporting, Corporate Income Tax, Indirect Taxes, International Tax.- Strong tax judgement and business knowledge or ability to quickly learn.- SAP experience is a plus.- Knowledge of the Accounting, Tax, and Finance relevant processes in a legal entity and at group level of a multinational company.- Leadership skills to motivate, coach and develop teams with different backgrounds.- Very good analytical skills and the proactive attitude to drive process changes.- Customer-oriented mindset, change management capabilities, and Team player.- Exceptional interpersonal communication, and presentation skills and ability to manage multiple and diverse stakeholders.- A high proficiency level in English, both written and spoken completes your profile.YOUR APPLICATIONThis is your opportunity to tackle the world's business challenges.
