Job Reference: 889_24_DIR_IBD_JOIP Position: Technology Transfer Junior Officer on Spin Off and Innovation Projects Closing Date: Thursday, 16 January, 2025 About BSC: The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain.
It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is the hosting entity for EuroHPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe.
The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress.
BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science under one roof, with over 1000 staff from 60 countries.
We are particularly interested in the strengths and lived experiences of women and underrepresented groups to help us avoid perpetuating biases and oversights in science and IT research.

Context And Mission: Reporting to BSC's Technology Transfer Manager, the Technology Transfer Junior Officer will support the execution of activities defined in innovation projects, mainly focused on identifying, registering, protecting, and facilitating the exploitation of BSC's research results.
The officer will also help with activities that reinforce BSC's positioning in the HPC innovation ecosystem by promoting the use of BSC's portfolio of technologies to society and the market.
Key Duties: Provide help with the management of BSC spin-off portfolio.
Assist in the execution of innovation and entrepreneurship projects at BSC.
Help organize BSC events within the High Performance Computing innovation ecosystem.
Requirements: Education: Business or Law degree preferred (applicants with a science or engineering degree will also be considered).
Knowledge: Knowledge in innovation, IPR management, or similar is a plus.
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: Innovation management.
Entrepreneurship.
Competences: Fluency in English, Spanish, and Catalan is essential.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Conditions: The position will be located at BSC within the Directors Department.
We offer a full-time contract (37 hours per week).
