Job Description:

We are looking for a Database Engineer to join our Business Area Information Technology in Madrid.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and implement best practices for database performance and reliability.
  • Automate deployment, configuration, patching, and maintenance of database systems and related products.
  • Design, build, and maintain database systems.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting notifications, debug production issues, and support services across the stack.
  • Integrate CI/CD tools, operations, change management, and maintenance.
  • Document processes to facilitate learning and automation.
  • Apply security best practices and harden system defenses.
  • Collaborate closely with IT Security and IT Governance teams.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience running Oracle Database Systems in small to midsize environments.
  • Familiarity with SQL, CQL, and PL/SQL.
  • Understanding of Oracle, Microsoft SQL, and Postgres internals.
  • Practical knowledge of running databases in Azure PaaS/IaaS is beneficial.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform) and programming skills (PowerShell, bash, Python) are advantageous.
  • Excellent English language proficiency.
  • Willingness to participate in weekly on-call rotations.
