WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ISGlobal is looking for a Laboratory Technician of immediate availability to analyse samples in studies of immune responses against malaria and COVID-19 after infection or vaccination, as well as in other studies by the Malaria Immunology group. Activities carried out in the project aim to investigate mechanisms of naturally acquired immunity and vaccine-induced protection against infectious diseases, and identify correlates of protection. The studies are carried out in collaboration with multiple national and international research centers (Africa, Europe, USA, Australia).

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS FP-II with at least 1-year laboratory experience Experience/knowledge in processing and analysing samples for serological analyses Experience in immunological assays Basic experience with database management would be an asset (Excel, CSV, GraphPad, R)

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The purpose of the position is to perform laboratory tasks related to characterization of immune responses to pathogens and infectious diseases, under the supervision of the PIs or delegated team members (Staff Scientist, Senior Lab Techs, Senior postdocs). The position will require experience in immune assays, including Luminex and ELISA-based assays. In addition, experience in handling cells will be an asset. The position is based at ISGlobal in Barcelona and required as soon as possible.

 
SPECIFIC DUTIES Processing of plasma/serum, PBMC or other fluid samples Plan and purchase the required materials and preparation of budgets Perform QA/QC and preprocessing of data, and basic data management with Excel, CSV.

LANGUAGE LEVEL Catalan/Spanish native Basic English CONDITIONS Duration: 12 months Contract: (part or full time) Full time Salary Range: According to ISGlobal Salary technical scale based on qualifications and experience. SELECTION PROCESS The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
