As a Fraud Data Analyst, you will provide fraud investigation, prevention, detection, analysis and strategy for Xcelirate. You will use your SQL skills alongside other analytical tools to produce data-driven recommendations that shape our fraud prevention strategy. Fraud patterns change constantly, and our analysts' mission is to identify and take action on these patterns with the help of manual and automated tools to protect our customers and businesses from fraud.

What Will You Be Responsible For? In this key role, you'll be responsible for daily investigations, weekly reporting and performing exploratory analysis to form realistic and useful narratives from data. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on our in-house fraud detection system. Your responsibilities will also include:
Analysing customer behaviour to identify fraudulent patterns and provide customer insight using SQL and Python
Developing, recommending, implementing and managing fraud rules to reduce exposure to new trends
Producing fraud reports for the wider business, including leadership teams
Contributing to the continued improvements of our wider fraud prevention infrastructure
Requirements Who Are You? Experienced as either a data analyst, intelligence analyst or data scientist, within the fraud space
Strong analytical capability and the ability to transform data into actionable insights
Good SQL skills (3+ years) and accustomed to handling complex data structures from multiple sources and producing findings
2+ years of fraud prevention experience and experience with decisioning systems in an e-commerce environment
Good Python skills (+3 years) with OOP knowledge
Desirable: Knowledge of statistical analysis, specifically around A/B and multivariate testing
Desirable: Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree (math, physics, chemistry etc)
Desirable: understanding of git version control
Desirable: some knowledge, understanding or experience of data science topics (machine learning knowledge a bonus)
