We are looking for a Software Engineer to lead the development of a platform that empowers investors and technology companies to achieve their climate and social goals.This is an excellent opportunity to apply your engineering expertise in a growing startup within the climate tech sector.
As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in defining and building our initial product from concept to launch.
The position is preferred in NYC but open to remote candidates.About KaraKara is a software platform designed to help investors and technology companies meet their climate and social objectives.We address the question of whether investments are contributing to solving the climate crisis, promoting diversity in portfolio companies, and encouraging responsible practices.
Our platform measures ESG and impact performance across portfolios, providing insights that are easy to share with stakeholders.
It supports various frameworks like SFDR, UN PRI, UN SDGs, Net Zero, and SASB, offering a standardized data set for benchmarking and comparison.Our goal is for Kara to become the ESG data hub for all capital investments.
Join us in making a difference.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and own new product features and infrastructure using modern frameworks and tools such as TypeScript, React, , and Golang.
Prior experience with these specific technologies is not required.Deeply understand our customers and market to build solutions that address key pain points and create competitive advantages.Collaborate with engineers and product managers to make a significant impact on our users, helping them improve their environmental and social impact.Contribute to building Kara's engineering culture as we grow.RequirementsProven experience as a Software Engineer in a high-performing software company.At least 2 years of professional experience as a software engineer; we welcome candidates at all experience levels.Strong understanding of product development, customer insights, and MVP definition.BSc / BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or relevant graduate degree is a plus.Primarily based in New York City (preferred but not mandatory).Competitive salary and equity package.Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance with dependents coverage, a remote workspace stipend, flexible working hours and location, an open PTO policy, and 12 paid holidays.At Kara, we value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment.
