Role Profile Role title: Network Engineer: Technical Specialist: Capital MarketsLocation: Barcelona Role Purpose We're looking for a recent graduate or a Junior Network Engineer to work in the COLT IP Technical Specialist team, under Service Delivery Organization to grow as well as the team while working in a friendly environment.
The Network Engineer will work within an experienced team with responsibility for technical delivery of solutions on routing, switching and security systems.
The Engineer will undertake configuration of Juniper, Cisco, and Arista networks systems, including NAT, BGP, L3 VPN, and Multicast VPN, network audits and customer-related documentation.
Key Accountabilities Create and maintain network configuration documentation.
Change request implementation, including opening and closure.
Specific support during market open hours for the different time zones.
Creation of internal reports.
Network Audits.
Professional customer communication.
Fluent communication with operational teams.
Support share knowledge with other delivery team members.
Other Accountabilities Ownership requests for Capital Markets network deliveries in both Asia and Europe.
Work in cooperation with other team members from the Technical Specialist group supporting Market Prizm and PrizmNet products.
For those specific projects who require it, joining calls with customers to gather technical details and elaborate action plans with other Colt peer departments.
Help other teams when necessary to design complex technical solutions or detect complex issues on the network.
Key Performance Indicators (Financial and Non-Financial) Accurate reporting of activities.
Successful implementation of customer requirements.
Positive customer feedback.
Proper documentation of solutions.
Positive feedback from Colt peering departments.
Capacity to coach rest of team members in technical leading areas.
Relationships and Key Contacts Role Specific Requirements Skills and Experience Experience: Good knowledge about switching and routing concepts (CCNA level).
Experience working with Cisco devices and L3 protocols (BGP, VRRP, OSPF, MP-BGP, IS-IS among others).
Experience working with Juniper devices, would be desirable.
Knowledge about multicast and its protocols will be a key differentiator.
Scripting experience (Bash, Python and Ansible) is desirable but not mandatory.
Skills: Capacity and interest to self-develop in those technical areas that require it, eager attitude to improve will be key to the role.
Ability to assimilate complex material, be able to document it properly and communicate effectively to others regardless of their technical knowledge.
