Our client, an American tech company based in Spain, specializes in advanced micro-scale technology for eco-friendly irrigation. Their mission is to optimize water, food, and natural resources. We are seeking a qualified individual to join us as a Field Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for managerial and technical duties. As a technician, you'll be hands-on with tasks such as installing, commissioning, diagnosing issues, repairing, and operating equipment with patented and non-patented systems. Proficiency in a range of skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, chemical, and electronic process control systems, is essential for your daily responsibilities. All activities must adhere strictly to relevant environmental, health, and safety standards and regulations. A solid understanding of the practical aspects of fluid dynamics is precious in comprehending the technology, especially regarding fluid flow and pressure in pumps and piping systems. Effective and positive communication skills are crucial for interactions with clients, management, project managers, design engineers, and manufacturing engineers.

Main tasks and responsibilitiesManage the Service Function of the business by keeping track of all field service jobs, interacting with customers,Utilize a customer management tool (Hubspot) to create, assign, execute and close service tickets.Write service reports.Manage service scheduling.Install, troubleshoot, and repair basic mechanical devices such as pumps, filtration equipment, air compressors air separators, ozonation equipment, etc.Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair pumping, piping control and piping conveyance components and systemsInstall, maintain, troubleshoot and repair basic electrical supply and electrical control systemsInstall, maintain, troubleshoot and repair basic pneumatic systems including air controls and conveyance systemsInstall, maintain, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systemsOperate, install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair SCADA, HMI, and PLC systemsConduct various types of water quality testingObserve, analyze, and record plant operational data as requiredImplementing a measurable data collection methodProvide detailed documentation of plant condition(s) and accurate/timely field reportsMake recommendations for system improvements to management.Provide training to operators on system operation and maintenanceProvide excellent customer service, listening carefully to customer concerns and addressing issues until the customer is satisfied.Attend ongoing training events sponsored by company or machine manufacturers to stay up-to-date on the latest technology and repair optionsBecome educated through manufacturer coursework/reading manuals on the process and equipment installation, preventative maintenance, rebuilding, repairing and/or replacement techniques and then use those techniques in carrying out your work.Work with all stakeholders to maintain a safe work environment on the job siteReview/recommend/implement Environmental Health and Safety initiativesThe main markets will be Spain & PortugalTravel 30%+ of the timeRequired skillsFunctional management capabilitiesRead, write, and communicate effectively and positively in Spanish and English language, Italian would be an asset.Physically fit and capable of physically working in the field including some liftingKnowledge of operating a computer (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems, etc.)Understand the importance of and capable of carrying out work in a manner that is in compliance with best practice environmental, health and safety rules and regulationsHave a driving license and a properly licensed vehicle and be willing and able to travelEnergetic and self-motivatedPersistent and determined to carry out tasks and projects to a successful conclusionGood time/schedule management skillsPleasant disposition, especially when dealing with customers and co-workersAbility to be a positive ambassador to / representative of the companyCreative problem solverAble to work in a clean and orderly manner with attention paid to detailRead, understand, and make use of mechanical, electrical and process flow drawingsAbility to perform work with hand and power toolsBasic understanding of and experience with fluid pumping, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, SCADA/HMI, and other related systemsBasic understanding of water quality testingDesiredMore than 10 years of work experienceExperience with water systems, water treatment, aeration, oxidation, or similar fieldsConfidence in using tools and equipmentWork experience involving travel, communication with other company departments, and direct communications with customersEducationBachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or working experience in Agriculture/Horticulture, Aquatic Management or Wastewater Treatment with a focus on equipment and technology.
