We're building a strong Control Organisation within Zone EMEA, with a combined emphasis on technical accounting, financial control and regulatory compliance.
This role will work closely with Zone and Divisional leaders, providing financial insight to support decision-making and ultimately contribute to the long-term success of our company.In this role, you will be responsible for the financial reporting oversight of business units, with a scope that spans across our entities in Spain & Portugal.
You will support the units in ensuring overall compliance with accounting and reporting policies.
For the units, you are the go-to person when it comes to financial control.
You will leverage your knowledge of the business and its main processes when reviewing and understanding the unit's financial records.In addition to financial reporting oversight, you will be a key partner in ensuring the successful roll-out and ongoing management of various initiatives such as GBS and SOX.
You will help bridge the gap between the project implementation teams and the local units.This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with an initial emphasis on being onsite more frequently to enhance team collaboration and effectively build relationships with stakeholders.
As you become more integrated into the business, the expectation will shift to being onsite at least a few days per month.
The Financial Controller should have the ability to travel a few times a month and visit our locations across the Iberian Peninsula.Key responsibilities :ComplianceMonitor overall compliance with Group Accounting Policy ManualSupport units in interpretation/application of accounting and reporting policiesReview monthly financial data and identify any areas where we are not aligned with group reporting policiesPartnershipProvide support to Central Control team on various topicsWork in conjunction with various Zone and Global teams to ensure adequate financial oversight on all EMEA unitsFinance routinesLead in-depth monthly BS, P&L and cash flow analysis for all units in your direct scopeCoordinate pre- and post-close financial accounting and reporting routinesPeriodic/ad-hoc review and approval of manual journalsRegulatory complianceEnsure statutory and tax complianceCoordinate statutory and tax audits in your jurisdictionIdentify tax risks and proactively limit tax exposureGBS / Shared servicesManage/monitor service requests to GBSAccountability partner for BU to GBSEvaluate GBS routines on a monthly basis on behalf of BUPeopleMentor and guide financial professionals at unit level, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environmentProvide coaching, training and development to enhance team's skills and expertiseOtherSupport Central Control team in group reporting and external auditProvide M&A Accounting and Onboarding/Integration supportSign-off on key transactions, in accordance with Zone Authority LimitInterested in this role?
