Project CIDEXG/2023/13 funded by the Spanish Regional Ministry of Education, Universities and Employment (GV).
Within the Valencia Region Ministry of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society Programme for the support of talented researchers Plan GenT published on 14 November 2022, which calls—under the financial year 2023—for fellowships for scientific excellence of doctoral researchers (DOGV 18/11/2022).
First. Number of vacancies and features of the job vacancy
Number of job vacancies: one.
Job position: Pre-doctoral Researcher.
Working hours: 37.5 hours/week in the morning/afternoon sessions
Remuneration: €1,321.43 gross/monthly (plus extra payments in accordance with current regulations).
Estimated duration of the contract: 4 years.
In any case, the duration of the contract will depend on the duration of the project and its budgetary availability.
Second. Purpose.
Collaborate in the research project 'The limits and future of data-driven approaches: A comparative study of deep learning, knowledge-based and rule-based models and methods in Natural Language Processing (CIDEXG/2023/13)', developing research activities, as well as doctoral training in the area of Human Language Technologies with the aim of pursuing a doctoral thesis related to the aforementioned project:

Preference will be given to:
Those with experience and training related to the tasks mentioned in section two and to:
- Human Language Technologies
Qualification:
Undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering, Multimedia Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Sound and Image Engineering, Telecommunications, or any other official qualifications with equivalent content.
Official Master's degree related to artificial intelligence and computational linguistics.
Fourth. Requirements for applicants.
Compliance with the requirements listed below must always refer to the date of expiry of the deadline for the submission of applications and must be maintained until the date of entering into the contract.
Hold or be in the process of obtaining an undergraduate degree with at least 300 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) or an undergraduate degree plus an official Master's degree.
Meet the academic requirements necessary for admission to a doctoral programme of the University of Alicante or co-supervised by the University of Alicante.
Must not hold a PhD awarded by a Spanish or foreign university.
Be a Spanish national or be in one of the situations listed in article 57 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015.
Be at least 16 years of age and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.
Possess the physical and mental capacities necessary for the performance of the corresponding functions or tasks.
Must not have been dismissed by disciplinary proceedings from any Public Administrations.
Not a civil servant.
