About BSC The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain.
It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe.
The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress.
BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science under one roof, and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.

Context And Mission The Finance and Accounting Group is responsible for the management of financial resources of all activities of BSC-CNS (expenses, budgets, audits, banking relations, suppliers, payment of receipts).
In this context, we are looking for an Accounting Officer to give support in the accounting and financial management of the center.
Reporting to the Accounting Coordinator, the final candidate will collaborate with the finance and accounting team in the tasks described below.

Key Duties Oversee and execute accounts payable processes, including invoice posting and validation.Manage and maintain financial documents and records through SAP.Prepare detailed financial and management reports to support decision-making processes for the Accounting Unit.Coordinate and execute general accounting tasks, including internal control of expenses and compliance with established procedures.Ensure proper reconciliation of cash and credit card transactions.Cooperate during financial and tax audits, providing required documentation and insights.Propose and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounting operations. Requirements EducationHigher Vocational Training (FPII/CFGS) or similar professional degree.Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience2 years of experience in similar roles.Knowledge of Accounting and tax system.Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Advanced level in Excel).Knowledge of the public system will be necessary.Additional Knowledge and Professional ExperienceHigh level of Spanish, oral and written (for Spanish documents processing).At least medium level of English, oral and written.Experience with a specific accounting program (preferably SAP) will be valued.CompetencesAn organized, methodical person, with an interest in administrative and financial support tasks is required for this position.Team player, effective time management and prioritization.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment.Planning and organizing (Structured mindset).Meticulous attention to detail and ability to multitask.Flexibility. Conditions The position will be located at BSC within the Management Department.We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures.Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration.Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement.Salary: we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona.Starting date: asap.
