Join our Cloud Networking Products team
We are a team of 12 software engineers specializing in networking software.
The team is self-organizing and can impact product requirements and decisions.
As part of Akamai's Cloud Compute team, we enable customers to secure and isolate their resources and workloads on the Akamai Connected Cloud, by designing and implementing networking products such as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Cloud Firewall and VLAN.
This role offers a unique opportunity to write production-quality software in the networking domain.ResponsibilitiesHelping build out cloud platform functionality that sets up, manages, and protects networking in the Akamai Connected Cloud.Building the core backend software components in Go, and building our frontend API in Python.Working on and extending our local Linux container network development environment.Designing, implementing, reviewing, documenting, and testing high quality code in close collaboration with your team.Working closely with local peers, and coordinating with teams globally as part of building on new features or dealing with bugs from users.QualificationsSolid skills in writing, testing and understanding complex computer software.Experience with object oriented programming languages.Experience or interest in developing in Python and/or Go.Able to work productively with team members to identify and resolve issues in a collaborative manner.Work in a way that works for youFlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
