Job Description As the global head of the Food Segment in Business Assurance, you will be responsible for defining strategy, driving growth, and ensuring operational excellence in our food certification/services solutions business, ensuring SGS maintains and strengthens its position as global market leaders.
The role includes oversight of our Pharma Cosmetics and personal care business , which is a small but strategic segment.
You will oversee a multidisciplinary team , foster relationships with key stakeholders, and uphold our reputation for integrity and quality within the TIC industry .
Specific Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy primarily for the food assurance segment , aligned with the organization's overall goals.
Identify and capitalize on market trends, emerging risks, and opportunities within the food sector , including new service lines.
Collaborate with global and regional leadership to ensure consistency in service delivery and innovation .
Oversee all operational aspects of food certification services , ensuring compliance with industry standards, accreditation requirements, and internal quality processes.
Lead process optimization to enhance efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction.
Act as a key representative to clients, regulatory bodies, and industry associations, strengthening trust and fostering strategic partnerships.
Build, manage, and inspire a high-performing team , fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
Drive the development of pricing strategies that reflect market conditions and maximize profitability .
Reporting Line Reports to : Head of Business Assurance (ExCo).
Place of Work European Union .
Qualifications Proven leadership experience in the food certification, TIC, or related industries .
Familiarity with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 22000, HACCP, BRCGS, FSSC 22000).
Demonstrated success in driving business growth and leading cross-functional teams.
Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills .
Required Skills Advanced degree in Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field .
Familiarity with emerging topics and technologies in food safety and traceability.
Multilingual abilities and international experience are an advantage .
