.Job Description:This is an exciting opportunity to join our newly launched Casualty Industry Practice team.
Casualty is a key strategic growth priority for Chubb, and we are seeking an Underwriter to support our continued growth aspirations.
This role offers the opportunity to work with a market-leading multi-line product writing mid-market Casualty business, working alongside experts in underwriting risk engineering and claims, and to be an integral part of our next stage of growth.Role Purpose:The primary purpose of this role is to underwrite casualty risks, with a strong focus on new business.
The successful candidate will have a strong market presence, representing the Casualty Industry Practice in broker and client meetings.Key Responsibilities:Underwriting: Underwrite new business and renewal accounts according to defined underwriting guidelines and strategies.Financial: Contribute towards achieving the Casualty Industry Practice financial plan.
Support the Casualty Industry Practice leader in preparing financial plans, reforecasts, and predictions.Training & Mentoring: Provide training, mentoring, and function as a role model for more junior underwriters within the team.
Take underwriting referrals.Compliance and Procedures: Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, contract certainty, peer review, audit, compliance, legal and regulatory requirements.Leadership: Support Casualty Industry Practice in establishing and promoting best practice within the team.Chubb Representative: Represent and promote Chubb to brokers and clients.
Represent the Casualty Industry Practice team internally at production, renewal, and other internal Chubb meetings.Business Development: Proactively maintain relationships with key brokers and clients to ensure profitable and sustainable growth, in conjunction with distribution and other key stakeholders.
Contribute towards strategic growth plans with key brokers.Cross-sell: Proactively maximize cross-selling opportunities through collaboration with Chubb colleagues.Qualifications:Skills & Experience Required:Good working knowledge of the Casualty insurance market and understanding of competitor analysis.Preferably engineering or law background.An experienced professional whose expertise is recognized externally.Results-driven with the ability to make decisions and work on your own initiative.Desire to continue to develop technical and broader business skills.Ability to execute and influence at all levels both internally and externally.Significant Casualty underwriting knowledge.Willingness to stay updated on industry trends, changes in regulations, and advancements in casualty practices.Strong presentation and negotiation skills.High English and Spanish level.Strong analytical skills.Able to embrace Chubb Values: Customer focus, Teamwork, Respect, Excellence & Integrity.What We Offer in Return:30+ days of vacation a year.2 days working from home option + additional flexible days
