As a Sr Supplier Quality Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead a team of quality engineers to ensure that our suppliers meet Honeywell's quality standards and strategy in the manufacture of components. You will be responsible for driving supplier performance improvement, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the highest level of quality in our supply chain.
You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by managing the day-to-day activities of your team, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible for conducting supplier audits, performing root cause analysis, and driving corrective actions to address quality issues. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Main Purpose of Job: To lead improvement of supplier quality, productivity and safety for assigned suppliers to reduce Supplier PPM and improve deliveries to SETS sites.To approve and develop new and existing suppliers through Honeywell Supplier Common Assessment to required levels of performance expected by Honeywell and lead qualification of parts manufactured by suppliers.Support the tooling health initiatives through evaluation of tool condition on-site at suppliers.Develop & maintain relationships to improve partnerships between Honeywell & suppliers. Responsibilities (detailed tasks, description of the main responsibilities) Responsible for coordinating with Procurement, Site Quality and Category Manager organizations for enabling growth & quality improvements at preferred suppliers.Responsible for supplier qualification through Honeywell Supplier Common Assessment.Part approval through Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).Monitor and report on supplier productivity performance and initiatives to improve.Interface with Suppliers, Quality, Operations, & Engineering, & Procurement organizations to drive quality improvements.Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier major quality issues (8D Reports).Drive use data analytics to identify the most important issues to focus effort on.Responsible for other duties and tasks as directed.Lead new supplier qualification and first article qualification cross-functional teams.Evaluation of tools (plastic, casting, EMS, tester etc.) at the supplier. YOU MUST HAVE Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics6+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering or a related roleStrong knowledge of quality engineering practices and methodologiesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional team environmentWillingness to travel as required WE VALUE Master's degree in engineering or a related fieldExperience in leading supplier performance improvement initiativesSix Sigma certification or knowledge of Six Sigma methodologiesKnowledge of industry quality standards and requirementsExperience in conducting supplier audits and performing root cause analysisStrong project management skillsAbility to influence and negotiate with suppliersContinuous improvement mindset ABOUT HONEYWELL
