The Companycomprises of leading businesses across a range of media, including: news and informationservices, digital real estate services, book publishing, digital education, sports programming andpay-tv distribution.About The RoleWe have an exciting role for a Director of Platform Engineering, who will have the overallresponsibility of the design and development of all cloud and data centre architectures asrequired for the business. The position will contribute expertise, embrace emerging trends andprovide overall guidance on best practices across all of News Corp's business and technologygroups. The position will require the ability to accommodate the global nature of the company,as the staff and teams within are geographically distributed.This role reports to the VP of Infrastrastructure Engineering within the Global PlatformEngineering team.Required Experience Deep and proven experience running teams with engineering best practices to deliverend-to-end solutions Deep understanding of security requirements related to specific regulations andstandards Programme and project management experience Strong stakeholder management expertise Leadership skills to drive global initiatives Partner management experience Deep understanding of the agile process and the proven ability to run scrum teams Commercial acumenRequired Technical Experience Experience with administering large-scale environments for the enterprise Experience with core AWS Cloud services, including VPC, TGW, A|E|NLB, IAM, KMS,EC2, Config, CloudTrail, CloudFormation, Lambda, and others. Experience with data centre technologies such as Dell, HP rack and blade systems Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware VMC/vSphere and ESX Experience with core Google Cloud services, including Compute, IAM, VPC, Cloud Run,and GKE. Experience working with container and serverless technology. Experience with monitoring, logging and management tools such as Cloudwatch,Splunk, SumoLogic, StackDriver and New Relic.
