We value diversity of experiences and skills, and you could bring unique perspectives to our team.Context And MissionThe Language Technologies Unit at BSC has a consolidated experience in several NLP areas, such as massive language model building, biomedical text mining, machine translation and unsupervised learning for under-resourced languages and domains. The LT Unit at BSC is looking for a Machine Learning engineer with experience in Machine Translation and possibly in other areas of Natural Language and Speech Processing. The successful candidate will work in a highly sophisticated HPC environment, will have access to state-of-the-art systems and computational infrastructures, and will establish collaborations with experts in different areas both at the local and international levels. Among their main duties will be to collaborate in DeepR3.Key DutiesPerform the full training cycle of the translation model in HPC clustersOptimize adaptation of LLMs to the translation taskSet up complete evaluation frameworksWrite technical reports and project documentation in English, Spanish and Catalan.Write research papersRequirementsEducationMaster degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Applied linguistics or related disciplinesEssential Knowledge and Professional ExperienceDemonstrated experience in deep learning frameworks and in Machine Translation and other relevant areas.Knowledge on version control tools, and MLOps best practicesAdditional Knowledge and Professional ExperienceDemonstrated experience in developing open source software and resources. Native or good level of spoken and written Catalan and Spanish.
