The role We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Middle Backup Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of backup best practices and technologies, and a proven track record of implementing and managing robust backup solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Backup and Recovery Management:Design, implement, and manage backup and recovery strategies for critical systems and data.Monitor and optimize backup jobs, ensuring data integrity and availability.Perform regular backup and recovery tests to validate system functionality.Troubleshoot and resolve backup and recovery issues promptly.Infrastructure Management:Maintain and upgrade backup infrastructure, including hardware and software components.Monitor system performance and capacity, and take proactive measures to optimize resource utilization.Implement security measures to protect backup data from unauthorized access and threats.Documentation and Reporting:Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for backup procedures and processes.Generate regular reports on backup status, performance, and capacity.Analyze backup data to identify trends and potential issues.Continuous Improvement:Stay updated on the latest backup technologies and industry best practices.Research and evaluate new backup solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.What we need to see from you Required Qualifications:Strong understanding of backup technologies, including tape, disk, and cloud-based solutions.Experience with backup software (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Veritas).Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with cloud-based backup solutions (e.g., Azure Backup, AWS Backup).Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).Certifications in relevant backup technologies.Key Profile Points:Proactive and Innovative: Always looking for ways to improve backup processes and reduce downtime.Problem Solver: Able to quickly identify and resolve complex technical issues.Team Player: Collaborates effectively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.Detail-Oriented: Ensures accuracy and completeness in all tasks.Strong Communication Skills: Effectively communicates technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Job Function: Software & Cloud
