The Engineering function provides a centre of expertise in the business for technology, engineering and asset integrity, across all phases of an asset lifecycle, to ensure that throughout the acquisition, development, construction and operation of Electrical assets, appropriate engineering decisions are taken to ensure grid compliance, asset design, technology selection, quality assurance, contracts, lifetime O&M strategies and associated technical assumptions align with best practice and serve to mitigate risk and maximise value. The Electrical Engineer will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager and will provide support to local project teams and corporate business assurance across all matters related to Electrical engineering.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide support to country and corporate teams on technical matters related to Electrical engineering and technology for assets in different stages with focus on supporting the project during development, pre -construction, construction and operations.Carry out engineering and technical due diligence on potential acquisition projects, both in development and in operation, working proactively with country teams to develop solutions for mitigating risks and adding value. Subject to experience, act as a technical coordinator within the corporate technical team managing external services providers.Participate or lead projects to investigate RCA of performance issues, resolve defects, equipment failures and incidents on site to minimise downtime. This includes performing reviews of system (generation, distribution/transmission side) fault records.Perform the review of complex system analyses, such as protective coordination, fault studies, power quality, voltage stability, system expansion studies.Review and ensure project's grid code compliance.Serve as a subject matter expert for area related to plant operations, power and transmission system.Review, formulate (if needed), and implement operating and safety procedures and guidelines for system facilities including substations, transmission, distribution and generation.Develop and/or lead early-stage engineering designs for utility scale Electrical assets, including layouts, SLDs and equipment selection. Undertake LCOE optimisation and analysis for new projects.During the feasibility phase, focus on developing the conceptual design that incorporates industry and commercial best practices, providing the performance team the inputs they need to run the EYA (this includes losses input for cables and equipment).Support to repowering projects by structuring the process between procurement, engineering and Owner's Engineering
