We are looking for an Underwriter Property (m/f/d), based in Madrid and Barcelona .
Your Team We have a solid track record of providing great support for property and business interruption insurance across different industries. We help out both medium-sized businesses and big companies. With lots of experience, we're experts at handling big risks in Spain, including international insurance programs. We use what we know about industries and smart strategies to give our clients thorough coverage and peace of mind. The Impact You Will Have Joining the Property Underwriting Community in the Iberia region means stepping into a role where your impact is tangible. Reporting directly to the Regional Property Underwriting Manager, you'll collaborate closely with clients and brokers to craft tailored solutions and foster new partnerships. Your primary responsibility will be to work alongside a seasoned senior team to underwrite both new and renewal business profitably. This involves supporting negotiations on participation, pricing, and terms & conditions, while actively pursuing new opportunities and ensuring the retention of existing business. Your contributions will directly shape our success in delivering exceptional service and value to our clients while driving growth and sustainability in the market.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include: Carrying out risk analysis at a technical level: nature of the risk, quality of the risk, materiality, vulnerability of the risk.??
Understand exposure, insurance cover, and pricing strategy.??
Drawing up an insurance program tailored to the customer's needs.??
Underwriting within the framework of the Group's processes and the Branch managed by the Property Regional Manager and CUOP.??
Develop your portfolio with new prospects and saturation with new products. Ensuring the profitability and sustainability of the portfolio.??
Develop and execute the Property Line of Business (LoB) local strategy and proactively support the development of the global LoB strategy;??
Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients;??
Ownership of large accounts/clients and ultimate responsibility for accounts.
Developing commercial relations with brokers and customers in collaboration with the Distribution team.?
Communicate local Line Of Business strategy externally in Spain together with Market Contacts and Distribution;??
Positively represent AGCS internally within the Allianz Group, and externally to the market;??
Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including e.g. Distribution, ARC, Claims, Operations??
What You'll Bring to the Role You have completed an appropriate level of education, in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
You ideally have 5 years or more relevant experience as an Underwriter, Broker, or relevant equivalent in the insurance sector??
You have an entrepreneurial mindset and strong communication skills ??
You can work in an international matrix organization??
You can assess risks, coverages, terms, and conditions of a (potential) insurance placement and can translate this into an insurance offer ??
Ability to conduct commercial negotiations.??
You are a true team player and well-established within the market. You have relationships with clients and brokers at the peer group level
You speak English and Spanish fluently.
