Offer DescriptionJOB POSITION: PRE-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER (I-PI 61-24)The University of Alicante calls for applications to cover a fixed-term contractual pre-doctoral research position to collaborate with the project "Bioreactor management Improvement in water treatment plants through the analysis of data obtained by metagenomics" of the Ramón Margalef Multidisciplinary Institute for Environmental Research. Reference: I-PI 61-24.UAIND23-16C funding, jointly financed by the University of Alicante Office of the Vice President for Research, Valencia Region Ministry of Education, Universities and Employment, and collaborating company LABAQUA, SAU.First. Number of vacancies and features of the job vacancyNumber of job vacancies: one.Job position: Pre-doctoral Researcher.Working hours: 37.5 hours/week in the morning/afternoon sessions.Remuneration: €1.321,43 gross/monthly during the first and second year of the contract, and €1.364,08 gross/monthly during the third year, plus extra payments in accordance with current regulations, as well as the salary increases approved by law for each year.Estimated duration of the contract: The University of Alicante will be in charge during the first 24 months, through a pre-doctoral training contract renewable annually, and the company will extend the contract for the remaining 12 months, as established in the call for applications and the agreement with the company.Second. Purpose.The successful candidate will collaborate in the research project "Bioreactor management Improvement in water treatment plants through the analysis of data obtained by metagenomics" developing doctoral training in collaboration with the University of Alicante research group WaKe, with the aim of preparing a PhD thesis endorsed with an "Industrial PhD commendation" within the scope of this project and carrying out the following tasks:Development and fine-tuning of analytical protocols for the determination and characterisation of critical factors for bioreactor performance.Integration of data in a Data Lake and generation of processed data to feed the analysis platform.Development and validation of data analysis algorithms.Reporting of the results in the form of scientific articles in impact journals.Third. Job profile.Preference will be given to:Those with experience and training related to the tasks to be carried out as stated in section two and in programming with R or Python.Languages: English.Knowledge of Catalan.Qualification: official Master's degree in Biostatistics, in Biodiversity Conservation and Restoration of the Marine and Terrestrial Environment or any other official Master's degree with equivalent content.Fourth.
