AVL Iberica offers a job in Spain (ES) as a Development Engineer for Functional Safety. We are seeking skilled Functional Safety engineers to join our dynamic team located in Valladolid. Joining the AVL SW Team, you will be able to expand your career with international experience and work on state-of-the-art applications for automotive.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the development of safe critical electronic control functions (e-powertrain, chassis, power electronics, HV-Battery, ADAS,...) under the aspect of functional safety according to ISO26262.Independently coordinate customer requirements and support the implementation of concepts up to the start of production.Support the optimization and review of existing functional models, considering test and validation strategy.Plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities identified in the functional safety process.Document functional safety-related work products.Handle risk assessments, concept creation, and safety analyses (e.G., HARA, FMEA, FTA...) according to standard specifications.Represent functional safety and cybersecurity within AVL and towards the customer.Support the further development of new technologies.YOUR PROFILE: Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, vehicle technology, physics, computer science, or similar.Enthusiasm for mobility development and technical innovation, with an interest in functional safety, automotive cybersecurity, and automated driving technologies.Basic experience in control engineering and model-based development (Matlab/Simulink, SySML, or similar).Familiarity with development processes in the automotive sector and Functional Safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or similar).Flexible, proactive, structured, and detail-oriented working style.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Proficient in English and Spanish; German is a big plus.ABOUT AVL IBERICA AVL Iberica is responsible for the Spanish, Mexican, and Portuguese markets.
