Your missionThe Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a non-profit research institute based in Barcelona dedicated to advancing the understanding of leukemia and related disorders, in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona.The IJC has laboratories in 5 locations: i) Hospital Clínic, ii) Hospital de Sant Pau, iii) Hospital Germans Trias Pujol, iv) Hospital del Mar, and v) Hospital Josep Trueta Girona.IJC serves as a collaborative center for basic researchers and physicians to work together on fundamental clinical and biological aspects of leukemia.The IJC offers an excellent work environment based on a multidisciplinary fusion of state-of-the-art ideas and facilities.The Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute Can Ruti is looking for a Laboratory Technician for the Single Cell Unit.RESEARCH DESCRIPTIONThe Single Cell Unit is a scientific and technological research support unit for high-level research projects in the single-cell genomics field that assists researchers from the experimental design to the data analysis.It has the most cutting-edge technologies, which have promoted research in various fields such as hematological cancer, oncology in general, and many other active disciplines at IJC and other institutions in the country.ResponsibilitiesSupport for internal and external single-cell DNA, RNA, and spatial transcriptomic projects of the unit.Quality control of the samples by performing viability tests among other tests.Use of dead cell removal kits.Preparation of histological sections for spatial transcriptomics and microscopic imaging.Performance of nuclei extraction protocols for single-cell experiments.Preparation of sequencing libraries using different single-cell platforms.Quality control of the generated libraries to guarantee that they are suitable for sequencing.Storage of generated sequencing libraries.In charge of managing the workflow to send prepared libraries to be sequenced to our external sequencing provider lab.Maintenance of a detailed record of the entire process of the unit (e.G., record of the samples processed, protocols used, and all relevant information on sample processing).Laboratory stock management.Drafting of laboratory guides following ISO normative fundamentals.Updating and optimization of existing protocols in accordance with what is indicated by the commercial houses.Implementation of new protocols of interest to the group.Your profileA person with a degree in Biology or similar.Master in Biomedical Sciences or similar will be a plus.PhD in Biomedicine or similar will be a plus.Experience in single-cell genomic and transcriptomic studies is a plus.Experience in spatial transcriptomics.Experience in massive sequencing techniques (NGS).Experience with NGS library preparation, especially in single-cell library preparation.Experience in cellular culture.Experience in nuclei extraction protocols.Experience in the use of databases and genomic tools.Bioinformatics notions on NGS and single-cell analysis.Experience in basic molecular techniques: DNA extraction, RNA, PCR techniques, etc.Experience in basic computer tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
