VFX Artist

Anchor Point Studios is a global game studio under NetEase Games, founded by veteran game designer Paul Ehreth in October 2022. We are passionate about creating immersive and engaging console and PC action games that push the boundaries of entertainment.

We are seeking a VFX Artist to join our team in Barcelona or remotely, who can design and implement highly stylized real-time visual effects for gameplay, characters, cinematics, and storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement stylized real-time visual effects using particle systems, shaders, and post-processing techniques.
  • Collaborate with art directors, designers, and animators to maintain a cohesive artistic vision.
  • Optimize VFX assets for performance, memory, and scalability across multiple platforms.
  • Work within Unreal Engine proprietary tools to develop in-game and cinematic effects.
  • Solve technical, real-time VFX challenges and work with engineers to improve pipelines.
Requirements:
  • Strong artistic vision for stylized VFX, motion, color, and composition.
  • Proficiency with modern real-time engines (Unreal Engine 4/5, Unity).
  • Shader authoring skills (node-based material editors, HLSL, GLSL, etc.).
  • Experience with stylized, hand-painted effects that fit a unique artistic direction.
  • A strong grasp of timing, anticipation, and fluid motion in effects work.
