**API Engineer Position Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled API Engineer to join our team at axiom-software-solutions-limited. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Enterprise API Management Tools, with experience working with IBM API Connect and AWS API Gateway.

This is a long-term contract position, requiring the candidate to work on-site two days a week in Malaga, Spain.

Job Description:
  • Implement API Management policies to ensure seamless integration with our systems.
  • Design and implement a contract testing platform to guarantee the quality of our APIs.
  • Develop and enforce standards and patterns for API development, ensuring consistency across our projects.
  • Create and maintain API Management architecture, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Implement observability measures, including DR exercises and SRE practices, to minimize downtime and maximize performance.
  • Provide training to product teams on best practices and strategies for API development, driving adoption of event-driven architecture.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with Enterprise API Management Tools: IBM API Connect and AWS API Gateway.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Proficiency in API Gateway implementation, including policies, lambdas, and security features such as OAuth2.
  • Strong understanding of API performance testing and optimization techniques.
  • Programming skills in NodeJS, JavaScript, Python, Ansible, Shell scripting, and Git.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and ELK for project management and logging.
