Job Overview

The Pre-Sales Engineer is a client-focused professional in the financial services industry, working closely with sales, internal service delivery, and pricing teams in finance. The primary objective of this role is to provide pre-sales support through customer-centric service solution design and integration due diligence, ensuring services can be delivered within the defined scope and are correctly costed. Solutions range from product-related technical field services to high-value integrated managed services. Enabled by the Service Catalogue from the Service Product Management organization, the role functions as the services subject matter expert (SME) on all service-related topics and promotes the adoption of the DN service portfolio.

This role requires insight into customer business challenges, sales strategies, technical capabilities of the portfolio, and the value delivered. Key responsibilities include integrating service value propositions into the operational environment of clients during pre-sales activities, including requirement analysis, scope validation, solution documentation, cost development, RAID-log documentation, and solution sign-off, which feed into the proposal and commercial processes managed by sales teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales engineering support to assigned sales opportunities, with service scope ranging from simple to complex.
  • Act as the Services SME for all product-related service topics, supporting sales during the pre-sales stage and engaging with end customers as required.
  • Manage end-to-end solution design from engagement to sign-off.
  • Analyze client requirements and collaborate with delivery teams, peer architects, and engineers to develop service solutions.
  • Utilize persuasive sales methodologies to manage customer conversations and facilitate deal closures.
  • Support industry events with services portfolio-centric support, onsite or remote.
  • Contribute to the development of improved service solution design practices and provide input to portfolio managers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in pre-sales or equivalent, with demonstrated strong performance.
  • Experience working in ATM service environments, with a strong technical understanding of device maintenance across multiple manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of technical maintenance and related services, with ATM channel business operations experience.
  • Strong understanding of leveraging IT and technology for positive business outcomes through data-driven service models.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with cost models and delivering cost sheet P&L inputs.
  • Understanding of Service Level Agreements and KPIs.
  • Ability to document solutions and create required artifacts.
  • People leadership skills, coaching abilities, and experience driving service discussions to meet objectives and timelines.

  • Strong collaboration skills across technical areas and teams.
  • Experience with process, quality, and tools-centric work models (e.g., TOGAF, LEAN, SIX SIGMA).
