TITLE OF POST OFFERED: Graduate Researcher

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in the Agri-Food field.
WEEKLY DEDICATION: Full-time (37.5 hours/week).
GROSS ANNUAL REMUNERATION: The employee shall receive a gross annual remuneration of 33,550.16 euros.
PROJECT TITLE: "Comprehensive and sustainable solution to minimize food loss and waste and promoting food security in the Mediterranean region".
DURATION: The duration of this contract shall be linked to the availability of the budget of the research line: Evaluate, optimise and contextualise the environmental, social and economic impacts of technologies and strategies to reduce food waste in different Mediterranean countries, integrating criteria of circularity, viability and local and global scalability.
INTENDED DATE OF DEPUTY EMPLOYMENT: Immediate
TASKS TO BE CARRIED OUT:- Application of LCA (LCA), social LCA (S-LCA) and LCC (life cycle costing) methodologies to the technologies developed in the project (coatings, chambers, etc.).
- Assessment of technological scenarios in rural contexts in Mediterranean countries (Spain, Egypt, Morocco, etc.).
- Support in the collection and systematisation of primary and secondary data.
- Participation in the development of sustainable good practice guides and technical dissemination material (ES/EN).
- Active collaboration in the management of the project, as well as in the deliverables and the elaboration of scientific articles with an environmental focus.
- Active collaboration in the co-authorship of high impact scientific publications.
- Academic background (40%): The grade of the transcript of records will be taken into account, Master's degree and also a doctorate (if available) in the field of environmental and economic sustainability of horticultural products.
- Specific training (15%): Courses/training related to environmental, economic and social analysis of the life cycle analysis. Courses/training in environmental product declarations. Course in the field of post-harvest technology.
- Professional experience (20%): Application of LCA, social LCA (SLCA) and LCC (life cycle costing) methodologies to fruit and vegetable products. Experience in eco-design and environmental product declarations. Experience in Carbon Footprint calculation. Ability to assess rebound effects through consequential Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
- Languages (5%): English B2
- Other merits (10%): Publications and congresses in the field of agri-food LCA.
- Personal interview (10%): An interview will be carried out to assess the candidate's skills.
