Senior Software Engineer - Product Security (Spain)

The Red Hat Product Security team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining applications that generate, maintain, and process vulnerability metadata (published in standardized formats such as CSAF VEX or OVAL) for our customers and third-party scanning vendors. These applications are primarily backend-focused and written in Python.

You will be part of a team (~10 developers) focused on creating highly usable tools, services, and solutions. You will often tackle challenging data problems, learn new technologies as needed, and collaborate with team members to align on a shared vision for our application portfolio.

What you will do
  • Design and develop an engine to process vulnerability metadata and publish them in standardized formats (CSAF VEX).
  • Integrate our tooling with various internal systems to improve data flow and meet SLAs for publishing CVE information.
  • Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines for applications deployed in various environments, such as improving automated deployment to OpenShift clusters.
  • Advise stakeholders on process-related inquiries, such as data models for storing CVEs impacting specific components.
  • Improve Red Hat's software delivery processes, including automating legal approval workflows for components in the registry.
What you will bring
  • 5+ years of advanced Python programming experience and familiarity with its ecosystem.
  • 3+ years of experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux system administration.
  • Interest in the container ecosystem, including Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, and Podman.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, rapid iteration, and fast delivery.
  • Good understanding of system architecture.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
