The Position

Roche Diagnostics has created a new Platform area that will change the way software is developed at Roche. The Senior Software Engineer in Test will be a key contributor on a team of 7+ engineers applying extensive knowledge of software test fundamentals, quality, and software design.

As a Senior Software Engineer in Test your general responsibilities include test strategy definition, requirements review, test plan development, automation test writing, and test execution. Ultimately, your job is to ensure our software stack is as automated as possible and releases are of the highest quality

Responsibilities
  1. Streamline quality across our process: Develop test plans and test cases from requirements and design, and own the delivery of a test plan for a release; work within our DevOps toolset and extend the automation testing aspects as needed (building dashboards, scripting).
  2. Automation Development: This is a hands-on development position, working closely with developers to write automation tests, frameworks, and supporting infrastructure to streamline and drive high test coverage.
  3. Leadership: Mentor and develop the team good software practices and testing fundamentals that will ensure.
Qualifications
  1. BS degree or equivalent in a directly related discipline (CS, Eng, etc.)
  2. 3+ years experience as a quality or test engineer
  3. 3+ years of experience working in agile fashion in projects with multiple squads
  4. Proven track-record testing large scale, enterprise (SaaS) applications with complex data models and workflows
  5. Obsession for quality and automation
  6. Conversational proficiency in English
  7. Source control management experience with GIT
  8. Hands-on experience with multiple test tools - Selenium, Postman, etc.
  9. Hands-on software development experience in either Java, C++ or C#
Nice to have:
  1. BDD experience leveraging cucumber, gherkin or similar
  2. Experience with performance test tools like jmeter or similar
  3. Experience in integrating test automation in CI/CD environments (Github actions, jenkins, etc.)
  4. Experience in healthcare is not required, but familiarity with data standards and workflows is a plus (HL7, IHE)
