Senior Database Administrator (Part-Time | 3-Week Project)

Summary :

Our client is looking for a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize their database systems. This is a part-time role (10-20 hours per week) for a 3-week project.

Responsibilities :

• Database Administration: Design, install, configure, and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor, index, optimize queries, and manage storage.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure data security and regulatory compliance.
• Backup & Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans.
• Developer Collaboration: Work closely with developers to optimize database interactions.
• Automation: Implement scripts for routine database tasks.
• Documentation: Create database guidelines and best practices.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience in database tuning and optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud-based solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
• Understanding of data security best practices and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with database monitoring and management tools.
• Intermediate English for effective communication.
