WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGSupplier Sourcing:
  • Lead and manage European procurement for logistics services.
  • Research and analysis to assess potential suppliers.
  • Gathering and evaluating customer requirements, preparing and running tenders, negotiating contracts and ensuring alignment between all parties.
  • Documenting aspects of the procurement process.
Strategic Sourcing Planning:
  • Forward thinking, identifying future needs and market trends to develop strategies that improve procurement efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Continuous improvement, identifying market trends and technological developments to improve logistics procurement and operations.
Service Provider Management:
  • Supplier monitoring using suitable score card system.
  • Act as escalation level and represent the interests of Panasonic at service providers.
Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Monitor risk levels of service providers and implement mitigation measures, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards.
Cost and Quality Control:
  • Analyse cost-effective sourcing options for best value. Review and improve logistics processes. Stay within budget and meet quality requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other departments, including Project Management, Logistics Operations, Order Fulfilment and Finance, to ensure that sourcing activities are aligned with business objectives and that the procurement, implementation and hand-over process to all areas runs smoothly.
Team Management:
  • Manage the European Logistics Procurement team. Ensure all personal tasks are completed in accordance with company policy. Motivate and develop the team and individual skills of team members.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • University degree (ideally business economics and/or logistics)
  • +10 years' experience in European logistics procurement functions
  • Proven work experience as a Sourcing Manager or Procurement Manager
  • Familiarity with procurement and logistics service provider management
  • Understanding of the procurement and logistics software market
  • Strong contract management and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical, project management and leadership skills
  • Understanding of logistics operational processes
  • Excellent and strong communication skills at all levels
  • Fluent in business English
  • Intercultural intelligence, ability to work in the virtual matrix of a large organisation
  • Customer focused, willing to travel
