We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Madrid, Spain. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of wind turbine load carrying structures.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Define concepts, detailed designs, and continuous improvements for load carrying and enclosure (LCE) sub-components, including machinery frames and fiber enclosure parts.
- Participate in cross-functional project meetings as the LCE system representative.
- Gather information related to LCE components throughout the wind turbine life cycle.
- Collaborate on LCE system design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA) and coordinate identified actions.
- Contribute to the definition of the LCE validation plan.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) for field investigations related to the LCE system.
- Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent university degree.
- Strong coordination and communication skills with the ability to work across different teams; project management experience is an advantage.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in the wind energy sector, preferably with a focus on load carrying structures (e.g. casting, forging, welding, bolting, and fiber components).
- Fluent English language skills (written and spoken).
- Expertise in DFMEA development with a structured approach to risk assessment and mitigation is desirable.
- Experience with TeamCenter is a plus.
- Ability to travel.
