Mid-level Business Intelligence Engineer

We are looking for a talented and skilled BI Engineer with strong experience in building analytics dashboards and delivering high-quality reporting solutions. While hands-on experience with AWS QuickSight (formerly QuickSuite / QuickSite) is required, we also valued candidates with solid backgrounds in other BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or MicroStrategy, especially those willing to work exclusively with QuickSight moving forward.The ideal candidate will excel in creating intuitive, visually compelling dashboards, writing high-quality SQL, and collaborating closely with Data Engineering to expose analytics to internal stakeholders. Experience using GenAI tools in daily workflows (including Amazon Q within QuickSight) is highly valued.This is a remote-first position.Must follow Dubai client team schedule: 9 AM – 6 PM GST, with 1–2 hours of flexibility.Key Responsibilities:Dashboard Development & ReportingDesign, build, and deploy new dashboards in AWS QuickSight, using parameters, controls, calculations, and optimized visual design.Create reusable datasets, calculated fields, and dashboard logic using both SPICE and Direct Query to Redshift.Apply advanced analytical features such as period-over-period comparisons, level-aware calculations, ranking, and user-driven interactive elements.Ensure reporting clarity, performance, and business value, turning business needs into insightful dashboards.Leverage GenAI capabilities (e.g., Amazon Q within QuickSight or other GenAI tools) to speed up development, improve analysis, and enhance user experience.Collaboration & Data IntegrationWork daily with the Data Engineering team, consuming prepared datasets primarily from Amazon Redshift.Understand data models and business logic to write efficient SQL queries powering dashboards.Validate data quality and consistency in collaboration with Data Engineering and business stakeholders.Participate fully in team rituals—standups, planning sessions, and ongoing stakeholder discussions.Required Skills & Qualifications3+ years of experience in BI development and dashboard creation using QuickSightStrong experience building dashboard in other major tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, MicroStrategy, etc.).Strong SQL skills and ability to write efficient queries for reporting layers.Experience with Amazon Redshift or similar cloud data warehouses.Solid understanding of data modeling, business reporting, and visualization best practices.Hands-on experience in reporting migrations or transitions is a plus (e.g. from Tableau to QuickSight).Ability to collaborate with Data Engineering to build reporting on top of pre-modeled datasets (no heavy pipeline work required).Experience working inside the AWS ecosystem (S3, Athena, IAM, Glue).Experience with GenAI tools for analytics, BI development, or workflow optimization is highly appreciated.Strong communication skills for working directly with business teams and participating in daily collaboration.Nice-to-HaveQuickSight Administration skills:Manage user permissions, groups, and access controls following PF security standards.Configure and maintain themes, namespaces, and user experience settings.Support monitoring of SPICE usage, capacity, and performance.Partner with IT/Cloud teams to maintain environment-level settings and integrations with AWS services (S3, Athena, Glue, Redshift).Experience with Amazon Q or other GenAI-enhanced analytics assistants.Familiarity with dashboard-level governance, RLS, and user segmentation.Background in high-growth marketplace or consumer-facing tech environments.Some of the benefits you’ll enjoy working with us:Join a top-tier engineering community solving meaningful real-world challenges.Competitive salary structure with medical coverage.Dynamic and inclusive work culture centered on ownership, innovation, and growth.Global presence with offices and relocation pathways aligned to your career goals.
