ROLE SUMMARY:

King's College, The British School of Murcia, one of the most sought after British Schools in Spain, is seeking to appoint a Biology iGCSE & IB ESS Teacher to join us on a permanent basis in January / February 2024.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. To prepare, provide and review class or subject based activities that maximize opportunities for student learning.
  2. To plan lessons by agreed deadlines in agreed formats and to ensure that copies of planning are available to interested parties.
  3. To show good subject knowledge and to share this with other staff when appropriate.
  4. To provide a stimulating ordered classroom environment where time and resources are used well.
  5. To respond promptly and constructively to pupils’ work.
  6. To involve students in the target setting process.
  7. To set homework that consolidates and extends classroom learning and that is based on individual need.
  8. To ensure the good behaviour of students and to develop within them positive attitudes towards peers, adults, property and school work.
  9. To maintain effective records of pupil progress and to ensure the transfer of up to date records when pupils change classes or school.
  10. To develop and maintain a good home-school partnership; to consult with and inform parents of the progress, attainment and attitudes of their children.
  11. To contribute to a whole school team approach.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
  1. A dynamic and pro-active teacher, preferably with independent sector or international experience.
  2. Strong team player willing to support other colleagues.
  3. Excellent working knowledge of the English National Curriculum and recent developments.
  4. Fluency in written and spoken English.
  5. Pastoral responsibility or experience would be an advantage.
  6. Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.
