An Oracle Data Center Technician will be the technical liaison between the technology teams and the Data Center Environment. You are able to troubleshoot and solve hardware issues. You create and maintain documentation on hardware technologies you support. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate to best serve your clients but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved. Not everyone is the same, and we value individual critical thinking and wide perspectives that we may not have had before.The Candidate Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems OR equivalent work experience Recent graduates are encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate interest and knowledge in the position and a willingness to learn on the job – gap year students also considered Experience in IT Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200 - 1000+ server systems) Demonstrated examples of a drive to dig into the details of a system or process to solve customer problems Experience working in a “mission critical operations” environment The position has a physical component requiring the ability to lift up to 25Kg and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations Ability to speak confidently and to communicate clearly in a virtual environment Strong adherence to processes and be a Process Champion Good communication skills (oral & written) and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers and staff Experience providing client-facing, direct customer support and service. Troubleshooting and repair of data center hardware and networking infrastructure. Rack and stack of data center equipment, including but not limited to servers, networking devices, monitoring systems, and other equipment. Rack installation including putting racks in place, cabling, power up, and hand-off of servers to internal provisioning teams. Monitoring of DC environments using monitoring tools. Monitoring and responding in a ticketing environment that is used and monitored by multiple internal Oracle Cloud service owners and teams. Documentation of activities and strict alignment to SOP’s. Decommission life cycle of data center hardware. Inventory process, order replacement parts, and return failed parts as required. Structured cabling, labeling, and troubleshooting of fiber/copper/telecom cables.
