General Requirements: At least 4+ years of experience with Python, Django . Strong foundation in Python , Django , and REST API development. Hands-on experience with React , modern JavaScript/TypeScript, and component-driven UI development. Proficiency with SQL databases; PostgreSQL Familiarity with UI component libraries (MUI, Tailwind, Chakra, etc.) and responsive design. Ability to learn new frameworks, tools, and technologies quickly. Interest in cloud infrastructure concepts (GCP, Kubernetes). Curiosity about AI tooling and its use in software development. Strong communication skills and collaborative working style. At least B2 level of English. Core working hours: start ~9 AM Pacific Time Required overlap: 4–5 hours minimum with PST 4h overlap in winter (18:00–22:00 CET) 5h overlap in summer (17:00–22:00 CEST) Preferred Experience: Deploying applications to GCP, AWS, or similar cloud platforms. Containerised development using Docker and Kubernetes. Monitoring/alerting tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Cloud Monitoring). Asynchronous or event-driven systems (Celery, Pub/Sub, etc.). Experience in healthcare or regulated environments. API modelling/testing tools (OpenAPI, Swagger, GraphQL, Postman). Experience using AI-powered development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc.). Responsibilities: This role spans Python/Django , REST APIs , React , PostgreSQL , and deployments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes . You will take Jira stories from definition through production-ready code, collaborating closely with product, design, QA, and engineering to deliver reliable, well-tested features across the stack. Backend Engineering Build, document, and maintain APIs supporting web, mobile, and internal applications. Design and optimize backend systems deployed to Kubernetes on GCP . Develop and evolve database models, schemas, queries, and migrations using PostgreSQL . Collaborate with AI/data engineers to build features that use AI or automation. Use AI-assisted tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development and testing. Monitor and troubleshoot production services using Datadog, GCP Cloud Monitoring, and logging best practices. Participate in code reviews and pair programming; uphold engineering standards. Identify opportunities to improve service reliability, performance, and developer experience. Frontend Engineering Build and maintain frontend features using React , TypeScript , and React Query . Develop responsive, accessible UI components using UX-focused libraries such as MUI , Tailwind , or similar. Apply strong UX sensibilities to create clean, intuitive user interfaces. Update existing pages and flows to support new product requirements. Write automated frontend tests (Jest, Testing Library, or similar). Contribute to the long-term transition toward React Native . Cross-Functional + Delivery Collaborate with product, design, QA, and engineering peers to define and deliver features end-to-end. Break Jira stories into actionable engineering tasks and execute independently. Support deployments through established CI/CD pipelines. Contribute to architecture discussions, code quality improvements, and technical debt reduction.
