Senior Software Development Engineer (Java | Cloud-Native) Location: Madrid, Spain (Onsite) Contract: Long-term (12+ months) Language: English (Fluent) | Spanish (Nice to have) About the Role We are hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to work on large-scale, cloud-native payment platforms within the travel ecosystem. You'll design, build, and maintain Java-based microservices running in modern cloud environments, collaborating closely with product, QA, and operations teams in an Agile setup. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-native backend services Build and evolve microservices on Kubernetes/Open Shift Contribute to architecture and technical decisions Troubleshoot and support production systems Collaborate in Scrum / SAFe Agile teams Ensure high code quality, performance, and reliability️ Tech StackJava, Object-Oriented Design Microservices, Quarkus Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift Kafka, Event-driven architecture REST APIs, Open API platforms CI/CD (Jenkins, Helm)Required Experience5+ years of experience in Java backend development Strong experience with cloud-native & microservices architectures Hands-on with containers and orchestration Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Fluent in EnglishNice to HaveExperience in payments / fintech Knowledge of PCI-DSS environments SAFe Agile experience Travel or airline domain exposureWhy Join?Work on high-scale, global payment systems Modern cloud-native architecture Collaborative, multicultural engineering environment Long-term engagement with growth opportunitiesInterested?
