Job Title: Senior Data Lead Engineer Location: Malaga, Spain - Hybrid: 1 Day to Office Every Week Duration: Permanent Employment Type: Contract B2BRoles & Responsibilities: We are seeking aSenior Data Lead Engineerto drive the evolution ofData, AI, and BI platformsforGlobal Transaction Banking (GTB) . You will own the data roadmap, design scalable cloud architectures, and lead high-impact data and AI initiatives in a complex, regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Lead theData, AI & BI roadmapensuring scalability, security, resilience, and cost efficiency Design and evolve acloud-based data lakehouse architecture(AWS) Builddomain-oriented data productsaligned withdata mesh principles Develop and maintainETL, CDC-based, and event-driven ingestion pipelines Integratecloud and on-prem data lakeswith strong governance, lineage, and security Deliverhigh-quality datasets and semantic layersfor BI, KPIs, and reporting EnableAI/ML and LLM use cases(feature engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, monitoring) Act as atechnical leader and mentorfor data, ML, and BI engineers Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver measurable value Required Experience ~5+ years inData Engineering / Data Platforms / AI Engineering ~ Proven experience withAWS-based data platformsandlakehouse architectures ~ Hands-on withDatabricks or EMR (Spark) ~ Strong background indata ingestion, ETL, CDC, and event-driven architectures ~ Experience enablingproduction AI/ML solutions ~ Strong exposure todata governance, data quality, and BI data modellingKey Skills AWS: S3, Lake Formation, Glue, EMR Databricks: Spark (PySpark/Scala), Delta/Iceberg, MLflow SQL & Python Data mesh, data-as-a-product, SLAs & contracts Data governance, lineage, observability & guardrails AI/ML & LLMs (RAG, fine-tuning, Bedrock) BI & semantic modelling (KPIs, star schemas) Nice to Have AWS or Databricks certifications CI/CD, orchestration & Infrastructure as Code Experience withQuickSight, Power BI, Qlik Agile delivery (JIRA, Confluence)
