Background information:
UNICC is seeking a Windows and Systems Administrator to join our Platform Operations team. The primary
purpose of this position is to operate, maintain and troubleshoot systems, services, configurations, and
core applications deployed within the Infrastructure and Platform Operations Unit - OPBO.

Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in planning and development of new features.
  2. Proactive management of the environments as well as the forecasting of capacity needs.
  3. Assist with the deployment of new applications and services.
  4. Work with other teams and play a key role in optimizing services.

Required Profile:
Systems Administrator with excellent communication skills who will work directly with customers
and other technical teams across the organization. Strong technical understanding of information systems
to address issues that arise across the organization, investigate problems, interact with vendors, and serve
as a technical expert. The position has a 24×7 support requirement, so the incumbent must be willing, able,
and available to participate in a regular on-call rotation, work a flexible schedule, and respond to out-of-band emergencies when the need arises.

Scope of Work / Duties of Consultant:
  1. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows systems within an enterprise-server environment.
  2. Maintain best practices and procedures for patch management, virus management, and
    operating systems upgrades.
  3. Active Directory Management, including managing and troubleshooting GPO's, DNS, and DHCP.
  4. Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot system errors and client system issues.
  5. Define and implement security best practices and hardening of the Windows Server OS and
    related technologies.
  6. Build and manage Windows failover clusters.
  7. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
  8. Perform other duties as required.

Required Technical Skills:
The resource MUST have the following skills and experience:
  1. Minimum 6 years’ experience with Windows Server administration in large environments.
  2. Microsoft Server Administration.
  3. PowerShell Scripting.

The resource SHOULD have the following skills and experience:
  1. Knowledge of a configuration management solution such as SCCM.
  2. Knowledge of monitoring tools such as SCOM.
  3. Good understanding of Directory Services components, such as Active Directory, GPO, FSMO
    roles, DNS and DHCP.
  4. Provide Incident Management, Problem Management, Service Request Fulfillment support.

Required Soft Skills:
  1. Have a deep problem-solving background with accompanying troubleshooting skills.
  2. Be able to work independently as well as collectively within a team.
  3. Be able to apply critical thinking techniques.
  4. Be able to effectively communicate with customers and other team members, both orally and in
    writing.
  5. Be able to quickly adapt to new situations and a willingness to learn new technologies.

Desirable certifications:
  1. Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, MCP are an advantage.
  2. ITIL v3 or v4 recommended but not required.
