Junior Project Manager

The Junior Project Manager (“JPM” or “employee”) is an entry point for project management personnel at Global Riser. The position encompasses a fast-track program of knowledge and performance with regards to Offshore Drilling Riser and associated well control equipment as well as Global Riser’s systems and processes. The employee will be supervised by Project Managers, Project Engineers, Management and Consultants. He/she will be an enthusiastic, efficient, committed individual, with strong organizational skills, who can think practically and innovatively, with an ability to work independently or as part of a team. He/she will also be expected to work unsupervised and will be expected to supervise other GR personnel. Responsibilities1. Complete training as required;2. Shadow Project Managers, Project Engineers, Field Service and Subsea Engineers in order to gain a fundamental understanding of the operation, inspection and repair of Capital Drilling Equipment;3. Physically participate in carrying out various processes in order to gain a fundamental understanding of how these are performed. 4. Manage projects from inception through to delivery; ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures; initially with assistance of management but ultimately unaided. This will include, but will not be limited to: quotation, project execution, procurement, logistics, resource planning, scheduling, reporting, inspection report review, databook generation and submission, oversight, manufacture, quality control and project closeout;5. Responsible for Project Quoting phase. This will include, but will not be limited to:a. Management will pass on an RFQ, then:b. Conduct Project Design and Development i. Gather all info on the scope as inputs ii. Identify other inputs, not supplied by the customer iii. Generate outputs iv. Input vs output gap analysis v. Management reviewc. Cost project using company process/templates/softwared. Draft quote and issue management for approval.6. Responsible for Project Execution phase. This will include, but will not be limited to:a. Management will advise when PO is received for a project, then:b. Review costing and verify no increases or issuesc. Request PO's for any third partiesd. Schedule and coordinate third parties and any of their shipping requirementse. Identify any specialist tooling requirements and have these engineered / manufactured / procuredf. Meet with Operations Manager and select project teamg. Direct Travel Co-Ordinator on requirements for flights, accommodation, and welfareh. Budget per diems and advise Finance Manageri. Draft equipment packing list with Operations Management reviewj. Coordinate with stores for equipment and consumables requirementsk. Coordinate with stores for packingl. Provide draft CIPL to Logisticsm. Generate project and QCP using company process/templates/softwaren. Conduct pre deployment meeting with entire teamo. Deploy to project (if/when required) and execute the scopep. Direct tasks to technicians using company process/templates/softwareq. Report daily (or as per requirement) on progress and update project cost dailyr. Identity any non-conformances and report to Quality Departments. Handle any technical queriest. Manage technicians and third partiesu. Close out meeting with customer on conclusion of scopev. Process completion notes / delivery notes and time sheetsw. Process of Customer Satisfaction note7. Responsible for Project Completion and Closeout. This will include, but will not be limited to:a. Assist finance department with invoicingb. Conduct After Action Reviewc. Assist to close out any NC'sd. Ensure all documentation packs are provided to the customer within the agreed time frame8. Report effectively to management and Customers.9. Always ensure a safe working environment. SkillsThe following are the minimum skills required to perform the function:1. An advanced knowledge of the MS Office suite;2. Excellent written communicator (email; technical report writing; WhatsApp);3. Excellent level of English, both written and verbal;4. Organizational skills; Time Management. Qualifications and Experience1. Relevant technical qualification.2. No experience required, as this is a Junior Position.
