Director Data Platform

Overview Novartis ambition is to be a recognized leader in Data, Analytics, AI & Platforms (DAP). The DAP group seeks a highly motivated Data Platforms Director to lead the data platforms strategy, including cloud infrastructures, MDM and other tech stack for Novartis International. This role governs a centralized, multi-tenant data hub for countries to collaborate, share & co-create data assets for the industrialization of analytics & AI.This role works in partnership with AI & Data Science, Analytics and Marketing Platforms teams, other Commercial Launch Strategy (CLS) teams, International/Regions/Countries (IRC), Strategy & Growth (S&G), IT, Finance and others to manage data platform solutions across the commercial value chain of Novartis International. The person will stay abreast of the latest thinking and best-in-class practices for data platforms, processes, data management, data quality & compliance within the industry. This leader will build a strong partnership and collaboration with DDIT to ensure end-to-end data management capabilities are deployed at scale.Location:Barcelona, SpainAbout The Role Key Responsibilities:Lead a centralized, multi-tenant data hub to host commercial, patient services, market access, digital, next-generation data and services across Novartis International.Partner with diverse stakeholders across the International ecosystem to drive alignment of data technology capabilities.Implement data platforms that adhere to the Novartis enterprise data management (EDM) framework for International, providing strategic direction and oversight for design, development, operation, and support of EDM capabilities that fulfill organizational needs and use cases.Build capabilities to deliver efficiency, trust & agility to data communities by focusing on centralized data platforms, data quality, data classification, lineage, catalogue & standardized data journey framework.Proactively lead efforts across International Data strategy to evolve next-generation capabilities to support future Novartis International objectives.Shape and execute data strategies; identify and optimize opportunities to align with executive leadership to achieve outcome-driven goals of spending optimization.Ensure Novartis International maximizes its data investment by acting as the internal expert and educating stakeholders on data value, availability, and proper use while automating, cost-optimizing and harmonizing for redundancy.Work closely with country data and analytics teams to tailor data solutions for local needs while preserving standardization for scale and speed.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including ethics, legal, and compliance teams to apply governance and risk minimization for compliant data procurement, protection & consumption while maximizing automation and integration with the data ecosystem.Drive data operations at scale to ensure a solid, reliable, compliant and competitive data backbone for Novartis International.Plan and manage budget, resources, and timelines of data solutions lifecycles and change management.Essential RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Business, or another technical field. Master’s degree preferred.8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, data, analytics, IT, or a similar role.5+ years of Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Healthcare and Consumer experience in analytics.Experience and understanding of digital & healthcare datasets, including structured and unstructured data sets such as customer journeys, patient-level claims, prescription data, sales & distribution data, and content & channel data.Experience with Agile ways of working.Desirable RequirementsHands-on and leadership experience in data engineering/cloud environments.Experience with Cloud Computing and big data architectures and engineering.Ability to independently conduct various analytics on pharma commercial data.Experience in building data solutions embedded in marketing platforms such as CRM, SFMC, Web ecosystems, social media, etc.Recognized externally as a Data leader via publications, external presentations, etc.Benefits And Rewards Company Pension Plan, Life and Accidental Insurance, Meals Allowance or Canteen in the office, Flexible working hours.
