Head of QA

We are set on finding a Head of QA to build a culture of quality and growth The role will involve frequent collaboration with engineering, product, and cloud architecture teams to drive quality assurance practices that are scalable, efficient, and aligned with Fast Track’s growth. This includes leading a dedicated QA team, setting clear goals, mentoring team members, and fostering an environment of accountability and continuous improvement.Success in this role will be measured by the stability, reliability and continuous improvement of our software delivery lifecycle. The Head of QA will be accountable for ensuring high-quality releases by reducing code-related incidents, minimising hotfixes, and strengthening confidence in our release pipelines.This leadership position is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep expertise in software quality and delivery models. The Head of QA will shape and execute QA strategies in a cloud-native, microservice-based environment, impacting practices at both executive and engineering levels.As Fast Track continues to scale, this role will play a critical part in evolving our testing frameworks, enhancing automation strategies, and ensuring robust observability and monitoring across the platform. Driving a culture of continuous improvement will be key, using data, retrospectives, and feedback loops to enhance QA processes, grow team capabilities, and proactively address quality challenges.Your responsibilities as a Head of QA at Fast Track would include: Strategic Leadership and VisionSet and uphold the quality bar across the Fast Track platform, acting as the Quality Thought Leader.Define and drive the overall quality strategy, including headcount planning.Process Integration and CollaborationEmbed quality practices into the full SDLC by partnering with engineering, product, and cloud architecture teams.Champion a quality-first mindset by integrating QA thinking early and consistently across product development cycles.Team Management and DevelopmentLine manage the QA team, including goal setting, mentorship, and career growth planning.Build a high-performing team aligned with Fast Track’s platform ambitions.Tooling and Framework EvolutionEvaluate and advise on QA tooling and frameworks, ensuring the tech stack scales with the platform.Continuously improve testing practices and infrastructure in line with product and engineering needs.Culture of Ownership and AccountabilityFoster a culture of accountability, where teams own the quality of their code and delivery.Promote cross-team responsibility for testing and quality assurance as a shared standard.Qualifications5+ years in software quality or engineering roles, with 3+ years in a senior leadership or advisory capacity.Excellent understanding of software delivery models (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD) and how to embed quality effectively.Deep experience with test strategy, architecture, and tooling, including the trade-offs between automation, manual testing, and observability.Comfortable influencing at both executive and engineering levels.Strong communication skills, and stakeholder management abilities.Nice to Have:Proven track record of leading QA strategy in cloud-native, microservice-based environments.Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g. Playwright).Experience within regulated or high-availability environments (e.g., finance, gaming, or SaaS platforms).Development at Fast Track At Fast Track, we provide a dynamic environment for high-performance individuals who are ready to elevate their skills.
