ABOUT THE JOB

As a Back End Software Engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional team that enables software development skills and capabilities across a whole domain.

You will own the software products from conception to operation. With a strong DevSecOps mindset and excellent collaboration skills, you will support your team in delivering the best answers to our customers’ needs and take full responsibility for applications, from design to operation.

You will strive for a high degree of automation, clean architectures, and high quality with a customer-centric mindset. You are able to select the right tools for the right jobs and solve business and technical problems efficiently.

You will work in a cloud environment, especially AWS, developing resilient and high-performing cloud-native applications. You have a good understanding of the AWS toolbox, leveraging AWS services and cloud design patterns in a micro-service landscape.

You can tackle the whole cycle of designing, building, testing, and deploying software and contribute to increasing automation. Security is part of everyone’s job; at TUI, we practice secure behaviors first in everything we do.

You are able to verbalize your thoughts and ideas and take the initiative to translate ideas into outcomes. Together with the domain’s Practice teams and Group Enabler teams, you will research, evaluate, and test new approaches, processes, and tools, helping teams to use them effectively.

You always drive for technical excellence, ownership, and self-organization at both team and personal levels. You love to learn, acquire new skills, and keep up to date with the latest developments in your focus areas.

ABOUT YOU :

  • You have a completed technical degree (e.g., computer science, business informatics) or a comparable qualification.
  • You have experience in the further development of products and services and in the implementation of customer requirements.
  • You have very good knowledge of .Net C# as well as relevant frameworks and concepts, such as .Net and Core, REST, MVC, and Microservices.
  • You have good knowledge of MS SQL and MySQL databases.
  • You feel confident in using Visual Studio and NUnit & Mocking frameworks (e.g., Moq). You have experience in creating modern ASP.NET applications.
  • You know about Gitlab and AWS CodePipeline (CloudFormation).
  • You have a very good command of English (written and spoken).
  • You are familiar with Agile software development and DevOps and have worked with these before.
  • You are a team player and love to find solutions for complex problems collaboratively.
  • You have experience with agile ways of working (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and want to take responsibility for improving work processes and interaction within the team.
